The Nile
The enchanting River Nile in Africa is the longest river in the world. With the pyramids sitting at the backdrop in Egypt, it takes a beautiful form here. It is 6,853 km long, and apart from Egypt, runs through Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Sudan, Burundi, and Congo-Kinshasa. The Amazon
South America's The Amazon is the second longest in the world. The river runs for 6437 km, it is an important water body for Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador. It also runs through Brazil, Bolivia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana. Some scientists believe that the Amazon was born out of a glacial stream in the Peruvian Andes. But it is up for debate, because this would make it the longest in the world.

The Yangtze
The third longest river in the world is present in China where it is known as the Chang Jiang River. It is the longest in Asia running for 6380 km, and originates from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau's glaciers. Mississippi-Missouri-Jefferson River System
The fourth largest river system is located in North America, covering a total of 6275 km. The Mississippi River is the longest in the United States, while the Missouri River is the second longest in the country. Together with Jefferson it forms a river system of importance, which happens to be the fourth largest. The reason why the three of these rivers are grouped together is that the Missouri River meets Mississippi River near St. Louis city, and then it merges with Jefferson River in Montana.
