ADSL on its last legs in South Africa

By   Daniel Puchert Partially state-owned telecommunications company Telkom announced in its financial results for the year ending 31 March 2025 that its ADSL subscribers had more than halved to under 30,000. According to the company’s operational data, ADSL lines decreased from 64,959 in March 2024 to 29,770. This 54.2% decline highlights that the legacy broadband technology is slowly approaching the end of the road. Telkom’s ADSL business peaked at the end of March 2016 with 1.01 million subscribers — two years after fibre upstart Vumatel  broke ground in Parkhurst . What followed was a sharp decline in Telkom ADSL subscribers. Customers connected to its copper networks decreased by more than 500,000 over the next four years. This was partly driven by Telkom itself, which began actively switching off its copper network in some neighbourhoods. Blazing Fire

Blazing fire
Blazing fire burns up the earth
Blazing from all the directions
Left right and centre
Fire burn

Fire burn anything on its path
Survival is only when not on its path
When burn up, your food is cooked
Fire burn

Fire, fire, fire when burning up
Its usage is only in two ways
For good will in our life, and
For bad will in our life.

Fire makes us eat cooked food
Fire makes us ware nice crafted jewellery
Fire makes us drive expensive automobile machines
All this after smelting mineral ore with fire

Fire burns oil in its refinery processes
Fire burns and smelt iron
Fire burns cars move,
Fire burns aeroplanes fly.

Blazing fire, can be the devil’s messenger
Destroying life, properties wiping the entire area
Like a giant tsunami which carries everything along its path
Putting a smile on the devil’s face.

They are wars all over, the fire is burning
Guns fire, bombs fire, missiles fire it is burning
From the air and from the ground carrying the some massage! Destroy
Fire is burning

Even in the bible in the book of Revelations it is said
The world is gonna end by fire.
Revelations 14 verse 20:‘and death and hell
Were cast in the lake of fire this is the second death’.

Revelations 14 verse 21:
‘And whosoever was not found written in the book of life
Was cast into the lake of fire’.
Burning fire.
