Four Seasons Before Lunch Gauteng (Pretoria)

I have lived in Pretoria for half my life, but even at almost 50, l still am not ready for mornings like this . I step out of  home in the morning at 7 a.m., greeted by a warm, gentle breeze and sunshine so golden it felt like summer had arrived overnight. The sky was clear; the jacaranda trees glowed purple; the air smelled of warmth and possibility. “Perfect day,” l muttered, locking his door. By the time l drive out—five minutes later—the sky starts to be darkened. A cold wind came crawling in from nowhere, sweeping dust across the pavement. The temperature dropped so suddenly that  l have  to switch the heater for warmth. Laughing. “Ah, Pretoria… you never disappoint.” Halfway to the office, the heavens opened. Not soft rain— a storm . Sheets of water hammered the road, street gutters overflowed instantly, and distant thunder rolled like a grumpy giant waking up too early. People scattered, hiding under bus shelters already too full.  “Ten minutes ago...

The Impotance of Social Life.

As the sun set over the familiar neighborhoods, we as a group of friends gather at our favorite hangout spot, reminiscing about old times and sharing the current. We had been had grown up together, exploring the streets, sharing laughter, and supporting each other through thick and thin. Some of our friends are late.

Over the years, we had gone or separate ways, chasing dreams and building careers. Some had moved to different cities, while others had stayed close to home. Despite the distance and varying degrees of success, our bond remained strong.

On weekends as  we sat together, we couldn't help but notice the different stages of life we had each reached. Some are married with kids, while others were still pursuing their passions. Some have achieved great professional success, and others have taken  more unconventional paths.

One of our friends,  had been always dreaming of starting her own business. He had taken the leap and is now running a successful startup. Another friend, Alex, had pursued a career in medicine and is now a respected doctor in the community.

As we share stories and laughed together, it became clear that each person's journey was unique, yet intertwined with the others. We  grew and evolved together, and our friendship had been a constant source of strength and inspiration.

These gatherings serves as a reminder that socializing with the people you have grew up with over time is invaluable. It's a chance to:

1. Reconnect with your roots and remember where you came from.
2. Celebrate each other's successes and learn from their experiences.
3. Offer support and guidance during challenging times.
4. See the different stages of life and appreciate the journey.

As the night falls to a close, each and everyone of us goes to our homes, promise to stay in touch and make more time for each other. We know that no matter where life takes you to, our friendship would endure, a testament to the power of shared experiences and the bonds that tie people together.

In a world where relationships are constantly evolving, nurturing friendships that have stood the test of time is essential. It's a reminder that true friends are a treasure to behold, and that together, we can face life's challenges and celebrate its triumphs.
